Elemento 8 is something between matter—something invisible to our senses—yet it illuminates a space and gives it (and us) the sensation of being alive.
This studio was born from a love for creating meaningful spaces for people who care. Architecture is a beautiful pursuit when it is done with passion and in service of life. That is why we have a deep interest in spaces, textures, and materials that tell a story and speak to our bodies. The movement of light and shadow can profoundly enhance our presence in a space, while the right acoustics and airflow can keep our bodies healthy and alert.

Like many people and movements before me, I have dwelled with the question of, the secret formula for Beauty; there is non. And still there are spaces, things and people who make us feel profound beauty. I think that at least a big part of the formula is the intention and care put into something, thats the invisible conector, the "element 8".x

francisco jaramillo vogel
francisco is an architect with a diverse international background, having lived and worked in colombia, germany, switzerland, and austria. he began his career at martin rauch’s “erden”, where he gained extensive experience in earth-based construction techniques and woodwork. he then joined herzog & de meuron in basel, switzerland, as an architect before moving on to itten & brechbühl, where he served as sustainability lead and architect.
